What changes would you make to your experience? How would you have learned differently with those changes? What advice would you give to anyone looking for a placement here?
The only change I would make is how the work schedules are organized, people are often overscheduled. Other than that, I wouldn't change anything. I feel as though, everyone would then clearly know who is working what day as what quickly. Advice I would give is just to be your self and to always have a positive attitude, because sometimes residents don't always have the best day, and you can easily cheer them up.
How will this experience benefit you? What did you learn from the experience about yourself? About this career?
This experience made me more of a people person, knowing how to respect and treat elders much easier. I learned how to build bonds with people you see all the time. I personally never got along with my grandparents, but I get a long with so many of the residents.
What are your plans after High School?
I'm attending Western Michigan University for Mechanical Engineering. I plan to maybe work in automotive. I personally would like to get an engineering internship over the summer or during the school year.
